All new Chrysler 300C
Chrysler is a brand that here at Finishing Touch cars we know very well. However, it has gone through many changes over the last few years that many people may not be aware of.
Firstly, there has been a big shake up in the model line-up. Chrysler is a brand that has very strong pedigree in the USA and has offered a lot of potential in the UK. The chauffeuring industry has taken well to the 300C and the Voyager in the past. The 300C’s main success has been due to its Bentley style looks. The Voyager being popular because if its features as a MPV.
However, these models have been on the market for a while and have been due an upgrade in particular the Chrysler 300C.
The major change in terms of the design is the front. Although the Xenon headlights are not new to the 300C the C shaped LED build in around the edge of the lights certainly give it a more up to date and futuristic look. The grille and front logo have also had a major change and are perhaps the most bold design changes. The Bentley influenced lines have been replaced with a more rounded design with a new wings logo. This perhaps is the most important change as the old Chrysler 300C was popular because of this Bentley inspired design. The major improvement in the design is on the inside. The previous version was made of cheap plastic materials which did the job but were not in keeping with the Bentley style on the outside. The new version is much more luxurious as you would expect for a vehicle competing with BMW or Mercedes.
The major update in terms of technology is something Chrysler call UTouch. It controls multimedia features as well as a voice activated Bluetooth hands free system. It also includes voice commands and navigation which is pretty standard these days. The multimedia controls include IPod, auxillary jack, and Bluetooth and SD card. Another cool feature is multimedia access from DVD, limited multimedia devices and some games consoles.
While the popular diesel engine of the previous model was regarded as adequate it was agreed by many that there was room for improvement so it is no surprise that there has been an update on this front as well. The updated engine delivers 236BHP with a maximum limited speed of 155MPH. Other features include a 5 speed auto gearbox and multi-link suspension.
It is too early to say whether we’ll be adding the new version to our fleet just yet. Our existing version is extremely popular but it is our policy to hold fire at least 1 year to reflect on market feedback on any new models.
In terms of shake ups the other big change at Chrysler has been behind the scenes which we’ll cover in the next post. In the mean time it would be interesting to see what your thoughts are on the new Chrysler 300C?
