An overview of Kidderminster
Located a mere seventeen miles from city centre Birmingham, the historic town of Kidderminster is a popular location for limo hire.
Situated within the Wyre Forest, Kidderminster boasts a population is excess of fifty five thousand and is twinned with the German town of Husum
Much investment has been made within the town over recent years, and this has been exemplified with the construction of “Weaver’s Wharf” The area represents a popular retail district with both locals and visitors alike, and within this stands the listed building “Slingfield Mill”, which has been developed into a prominent and successful part of the retail facilities.
Historically, Kidderminster has led the way in terms of carpet manufacturing. This dates back to the eighteenth century with the evolution of “Brintons” which was not only a nationally recognised brand, but also significantly fuelled the local economy.
Interestingly, there is still a newspaper within the area named “The Shuttle” which directly relates to the transportation of carpet looms at the height of the industry. Sadly, carpet manufacturing within the town has slowly reclined over time, but the industry is by no means dead with over two hundred people still employed by Brintons in the town.
In terms of nightlife, Kidderminster has pubs, bars and clubs which will suit everyone’s preferences. Many of the people which we provide limo hire for descend on the Mirage nightclub. An eclectic range of music is played over the course of the night at Mirage, ranging from dance to rock and from RnB to good old fashioned eighties cheese which gets everyone up on the dance floor!
In addition to this, “DY10” is very popular for parties and celebrations, as is “Q2” which is a vibrant pool bar located within the town centre.
For those of you who like to stretch the evening out as long as possible, there are several bars which have extended opening times including Rachel’s Bar and the Watermill which is a particular favourite.
