Limousines – a dream to own one, but easy to hire one
Limousines are used for special occasions like weddings and parties. And a lot of limo hire companies offer some good deals.
The limousine got its name from a French region named Limousin as the shepherds in such a region would wear cloak hoods which resembled the covered compartment of the first limousine that was made in 1902.
Traditionally black or white in colour, the early stretched limos were referred to as ‘big band buses.’ These first stretched limos made in 1928 were used as transport vehicles to transport members of big bands and their equipments too.
A luxury sedan or a saloon car has a partition dividing the area between the chauffeur’s seat and the passenger’s seat. This allows for the privacy of the conversation happening in the rear section of the vehicle.
Traditionally, the limousine has been seen as a status vehicle for the rich. Rich and exclusive, a limousine is often driven by a chauffeur.
While some limousines are owned by individuals, many are owned by governments and used for transporting senior politicians. Many large companies may also have limousines to transport executives. Broadcasters could also have a limo to transport guests.
Limos could also have security features such as armouring and bullet-proof glass for the safety of the more high profile passengers.
But if you cannot afford to own one, there is a solution to that. You can easily hire these vehicles for a specific time period. There are quite a lot of companies that offer limos on hire for special occasions such as weddings, events and other such special days.
